Preview: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is full of fresh low gravity fun | GameCrate

GameCrate: "Borderlands has always been a largely funny, fairly crazy series. Beneath the FPS/RPG hybrid gameplay youll find a game with insane boss characters, weird enemies, and strange moments. It seems that Gearbox Software is going in an even sane direction with the upcoming Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. The gravity mechanics, new weapons, and fresh abilities help the game stand out from its predecessors and give it a life of its own."

| Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! is Definitely More Borderlands | gamrReview Preview

gamrReview's Jake Weston: "Weve seen many video game prequels in the last few years, quickly made, sometimes cheaply produced, and usually worked on by the publishers B-team while the next step forward in whichever hypothetical series were talking about is being developed. On one hand, its kind of refreshing that 2K Australia is addressing this head-on with their naming of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!, taking over the franchise from Gearbox Software as they work on whatever it is theyre currently working on. On the other hand, while the meta nature of the title certainly fits nicely with the series trademark humor, it doesnt mask the feeling that this entry is indeed more of the same from 2012s Borderlands 2, though if youre a hardcore fan of the franchise, thats certainly not a bad thing."

"Gearbox Software struck absolute gold when it released the original Borderlands back in 2009. Since then, the developer has released a follow-up as well as ported it to the PlayStation Vita in May. Now, Gearbox alongside 2K Australia are prepping fans of the franchise to head to the Hyperion moonbase. If you've followed the franchise since its release, you'd know that the moonbase is something fans have been clamoring for as DLC for quite some time. The fact we're finally getting the chance to experience that part of the Borderlands environment is awesome.
